On the morning of May 9th, at the construction site of the Lanshui Port Services Marine Engineering and Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing project in Tongzhou Bay, two heavy tampers were operating, and construction workers were busy building access roads to ensure the project's progress. "Our project mainly focuses on converter stations, offshore floating bodies, intelligent offshore equipment, and offshore wind power assembly. It officially started in February this year, and after commissioning, the per-mu tax revenue will be no less than 300,000 yuan." said Ma Guojian, the project manager.
Since the beginning of this year, the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone has prioritized increasing the total volume and improving its capacity, striving to make a strong start in the first quarter, achieving a stable economic opening. It is reported that in the first quarter of 2023, the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone ranked first among all areas in Nantong in terms of industrial economic growth, efficiency, and investment. Fixed asset investment increased by 53.1% year-on-year, and general public budget revenue increased by 23.61% year-on-year.
The steady and positive economic performance is driven by the promotion of major projects.
This year, the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone has launched an in-depth "Year of Attracting Major and High-Quality Projects" campaign. Multiple investment promotion teams have successively visited the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Europe, Beijing, and Shanghai to connect with key industries and enterprises, strengthening cooperation and project attraction with key areas in southern Jiangsu and Shanghai. Among them, the investment environment promotion conferences held in Shanghai and Beijing for Tongzhou Bay resulted in the signing of 22 projects, involving new materials, intelligent manufacturing, shipbuilding and marine engineering, and other industries, injecting new impetus into the upgrading of Tongzhou Bay's industries.
As one of the newly started projects in Tongzhou Bay this year, the Dongcheng Electromechanical Tools project, with an annual production capacity of 11.28 million units of electrical tools, is bustling with activity, with large-scale equipment undergoing pile driving operations. After commissioning, the project will mainly engage in the production, research and development, and sales of various power tools, with an annual sales revenue of no less than 800 million yuan. Currently, all eight industrial projects newly started in Tongzhou Bay in the first quarter are progressing smoothly, with a total investment of 5.43 billion yuan, covering intelligent manufacturing, marine engineering equipment, and services.
“The demonstration zone continuously improves its enterprise linkage service mechanism, regularly conducts face-to-face communication between government and enterprises, providing high-quality and efficient services throughout the entire cycle, with all elements and a closed loop for project construction and enterprise development." A relevant person in charge of the demonstration zone introduced that by strengthening resource guarantees and service coordination, the demonstration zone is making every effort to promote the construction of 89 planned projects, ongoing projects, and major provincial and municipal projects, accelerating the transformation and production of projects in the pipeline, striving to achieve a double-overtaking in the second quarter.
