Around July 1st, a relatively minor incident attracted widespread media attention.
On the afternoon of June 26th, a video went viral online.
The incident took place at the Jinmao Supervision and Management Office of the Longhua Branch of the Haikou Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau in Hainan Province.
The main content of the video is:
A female staff member at the Jinmao Supervision and Management Office monopolized a computer, refusing to process business licenses or print materials for the public.
A man tried to negotiate with her to share the computer, but was rebuffed.

A service window displayed signs indicating "Consultation" and "Processing".
A male staff member coordinated with a female staff member about using the computer for printing, stating that only this computer was connected to the printer.
However, the woman insisted on not letting him use it, demanding that he call the director.
Subsequently, an argument ensued between the two.
During the incident, the man asked if he could try turning on the computer.
The woman questioned:
"Who gave you the right to use this computer?"
The woman claimed she was studying.
The man asked her to either open the computer to study or use a different computer.
The woman retorted:
"Whether I study or not is my right, it's none of your business."
The man asked the woman:
"So you're just going to let the citizens wait here?"
The woman responded:
"Then wait here!"
Why did the man try to negotiate with the woman about using the computer?
Because at that time, members of the public were on the premises needing to print materials, and only the computer occupied by the woman had a printer.
However, the woman refused to let the man use the computer to print.
She claimed she was studying, but wasn't actually using the computer.
She was simply unreasonably monopolizing the computer!
After the incident went viral online and public opinion erupted, the local authorities responded swiftly.
On June 27th, the Haikou Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau released a "Notice on the Investigation and Handling of the Incident of a Jinmao Office Staff Member Monopolizing a Computer and Refusing to Process Documents for the Public."
The notice confirmed that the video accurately reflected the situation.
Staff member Xu (female, civil servant) ignored her colleagues' advice and occupied the printing station at the front desk, causing business license and machine-readable archive printing to be suspended, affecting the public's ability to conduct business.
On June 28th, the Haikou Municipal Market Supervision Bureau took further action regarding the incident of "monopolizing the computer and refusing to process documents for the public."
One responsible unit and three responsible individuals were held accountable.
First:
The female staff member, Xu, from the Jinmao Supervision Office of the Longhua Branch, received a party warning and administrative warning, and was suspended from her post!
Second:
The director of the Jinmao Supervision Office of the Longhua Branch received a party warning and administrative warning, and was removed from their post!
Third:
The party secretary and director of the Longhua Branch received a warning.
Fourth:
The party group of the Longhua Branch was ordered to submit a written self-criticism to the party group of the Haikou Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau.
Perhaps the female staff member who monopolized the computer never imagined that her arrogant action would cause such a significant impact.
It attracted widespread attention nationwide.
She and her superiors were disciplined and suspended/removed from their posts!
Why did what seemed to her like a minor incident cause such a huge reaction?
The handling of this matter sends a clear signal:
Going against the public?
Suspension and removal from office, no discussion!
Interpreting this event during the July 1st period is even more meaningful.
Let's not forget that the words "Serve the People" have been deeply ingrained in the soul of our party since Chairman Mao inscribed them!
Ignoring the interests of the masses and going against them is a complete betrayal of the principle of "Serving the People"!
In addition, there's a small detail that many netizens are also paying attention to.
What will happen to the man who communicated with the woman who monopolized the computer, leading to the argument?
He did nothing wrong.
On the contrary, he resolutely fought against the female staff member's disregard for the interests of the masses.
Logically, he should be commended.
However, many people are worried:
It was his communication and argument with the female staff member that brought the problem to light.
It was he who indirectly caused his director to be warned and removed from office.
Although no one can punish him, will he face unfair treatment later?
Hopefully, he will not suffer any injustice!
