“Across the Sea and Along the River, Weaving a Shared Future” - Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone Successfully Holds a Textile Industry Cooperation Roundtable

On September 14, a cooperation symposium on the textile industry between the Tongzhou Bay Demonstration Zone and Suzhou Wujiang District was held in Pingwang Town, Wujiang. Ding Feng, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Demonstration Zone, attended the event and delivered a speech. Shi Xingkai, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee, presided over the event, and Ni Wei, member and deputy director of the Party Working Committee, gave a thematic introduction.

Ding Feng stated,

Wujiang has a profound historical background and gathers outstanding talents. It is an important gathering area for Suzhou's advanced manufacturing industry, strategic emerging industries, and private economy. The convening of this symposium has strengthened the exchanges and interactions between Tongzhou Bay and Wujiang, and will surely create new opportunities for common development.

Ding Feng pointed out,

The Tongzhou Bay Modern Textile Industrial Park, positioned as the "China Home Textile Fabric Base and Coastal Green Dyeing Center," focuses on technological, green, branded, and international orientations. It centers on high-end fabric processing and strives to build a diversified green ecological professional dyeing park mainly focusing on home textile fabrics with upstream and downstream connections. This symposium primarily aims to "seek advice" from enterprises, focusing on process innovation, green transformation, market expansion, and how to shape regional comparative advantages, listening to the opinions and suggestions of entrepreneurs; and to "understand the needs" of enterprises, understanding the expectations and demands of excellent Wujiang textile enterprises in terms of local functional support, industrial ecology, policy support, and especially the understanding of the Party committee and government in the process of going global and transforming and expanding. It also explores how local Party committees and governments can better leverage advantages, address shortcomings, and develop unique characteristics to create a favorable development environment for textile enterprises.

Ding Feng emphasized,

As one of the two key economic clusters being developed, the textile industry is a focus of Nantong's efforts to cultivate landmark industries, build innovative platforms, and implement regional layouts. Tongzhou Bay will follow the unified city-wide layout, carefully study and analyze the issues of concern raised by entrepreneurs at today's symposium, improve supporting functions, and fully serve the development of enterprises to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Shi Xingkai, in his presiding remarks, pointed out that for a long time, Tongzhou Bay has established good and close cooperative relationships with relevant industrial parks and chambers of commerce in Wujiang District, actively undertaking industrial transfer and the overflow of high-quality resources from Wujiang. It is hoped that through the platform of this symposium, technical exchanges can be strengthened to promote technological upgrading and innovative development in the industry.

During the interactive exchange session, entrepreneurs expressed their views on the development prospects of the textile industry and the construction of the Tongzhou Bay Textile Industrial Park. Everyone agreed that it is necessary to grasp market demand, increase investment in technology, and promote the green, intelligent, and sustainable development of the textile industry. Suggestions were also made to strengthen textile talent cultivation and education, hoping to cultivate more talents with innovation capabilities and market competitiveness to inject new impetus into the future development of the textile industry.
Relevant responsible comrades from the Investment Promotion Bureau of the Demonstration Zone, leaders of the Pingwang Town General Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from more than 20 textile companies attended the meeting.
