To further promote the normal, standardized, and effective implementation of elementary school comprehensive practical activity courses and improve the classroom teaching level and research ability of comprehensive practical activity course teachers, recently, the Jiangsu Province "Salt-Tolerant Rice Course" on-site meeting and the Nantong City elementary school comprehensive practical activity curriculum seminar were successfully held at Zilan Primary School, Tongzhou Bay Branch. Wan Wei, deputy director of the Basic Education Research Institute of Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Educational Sciences; Cao Guilin, deputy secretary and vice president of Nantong Municipal Institute of Educational Sciences; and Chen Youzhi, deputy director of the Elementary Education Research Office, and other expert leaders participated in this seminar.

Opening Ceremony

At the meeting, Cao Guilin called on all regions to closely combine local resources and leverage comprehensive practice and labor education to drive a holistic transformation of teachers' and students' teaching concepts and methods.

Expert Lecture

Wan Wei, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Basic Education Research, gave a special lecture entitled "Cultivating Non-Cognitive Abilities: The New Mission of Comprehensive Practical Activities in the New Era," pointing out the direction for teachers' future classrooms.

Wu Pengcheng, executive principal of Zilan Primary School, Tongzhou Bay Branch, reported on the origin, design, evaluation, and results of the salt-tolerant rice course.

Course Performance

A small stage, a great spectacle. The course performance uses a grain of rice as the protagonist, telling the growth process from young seedlings to golden rice, divided into five chapters of morality, intelligence, physical education, aesthetics, and labor, reflecting the school's educational philosophy of prioritizing morality and comprehensive education.

Course Experience

The little ones led the guests to visit the Xiaomi Li Travel Space, Xiaomi Li Exhibition Hall, and Xiaomi Li Creative Space and other practical bases. The little ones and the guests interacted happily, tasting rice wine, rice porridge, making straw men, visiting the labor process, understanding rice culture, and immersively experiencing the gifts of rice.
