On November 26, the Tongzhouwan Modern Textile and Wool Industry Special Investment Promotion Event and the 41st Wool Salon of the Wool Chamber of Commerce were successfully held in the district. Lu Zhong Hua, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone, attended the event. Shi Hong Jie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech. Ni Wei, member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee, gave a thematic introduction.

In his speech, Shi Hong Jie stated that the Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone is a newly established park born from China's entry into a new era, strengthening its strategy of striving for maritime strength and vigorously developing the marine economy. The Tongzhouwan Modern Textile Industrial Park is a significant achievement in implementing Nantong's strategy of supplementing and strengthening its textile industry, and it is an important part of Tongzhouwan's "five parks, one city, and one base." Tongzhouwan will adhere to being enterprise-oriented and using enterprise reputation as a standard, providing "zero-distance" service to enterprises, implementing policies with "zero obstacles," and resolving problems with "zero delay." It will focus on building an industrial ecosystem, optimizing the government environment, and ensuring policy implementation, continuously polishing the golden signboard of "Everything is smooth in Tongzhou Bay, no worries in the bay" for business services.

Dr. Ji Qianlong, Chairman of the Zhangjiagang Wool Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Zhangjiagang Yangzi Fine Combing Wool Company, stated in his opening remarks that the textile industry is a pillar industry in Zhangjiagang, especially the wool textile industry. Driven by leading enterprises in the industry, it has formed an industrial pattern of "the world looks to China for wool, and China looks to Zhangjiagang for wool." This event, held in Tongzhouwan, aims to analyze the wool market, exchange market information, deepen cooperation, enhance friendship, and jointly explore the development direction of the wool industry.

In the special report session, Chu Jiewen, Technical Director (Woven Products) of the International Wool Secretariat China Region; Wu Huijun, CEO of Importbao E-commerce Platform and President of the Yangtze River Delta Textile and Garment Industry Chain Innovation Center; and Feng Bing, General Manager of Ningbo Xingsuo Textile Trading Co., Ltd., respectively gave special speeches on "Innovation of Merino Wool Woven Products under the Modern Textile Industry System," "From Fiber to Fashion—Importbao's Digital Layout," and "Fragmented 2023."

In the "face-to-face" session with guests, Song Tengfei, Australian/New Zealand wool sales agent; Yang Xiaoxiong, head of the China-Australia, China-New Zealand, and China-Africa working groups; Qian Yaoyu, chairman of Zhangjiagang Jinmeng Dyeing Co., Ltd.; and Huang Yubing, chairman of Nantong Hongyang Wool Products Co., Ltd., along with two other wool industry chain elites, took the stage to share their thoughts on the wool industry, interacted with the attendees, and discussed the future of the wool industry.

The textile industry is an important industry in the Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone's "five parks, one city, and one base" development plan, and it is also Nantong's most recognizable and iconic pillar and traditional industry. The Tongzhouwan Modern Textile Industrial Park covers an area of 11.55 square kilometers. Adhering to the development concept of "modern, green, intelligent, and refined," it aims to build an industrial park focusing on high-end fabric processing for household and industrial textiles. Currently, infrastructure such as wastewater treatment plants, industrial water plants, and thermal power plants have all been put into operation. The park has signed contracts with 32 projects, with products covering high-end home textile fabrics, clothing fabrics, high-end sofa and curtain fabrics, and outdoor textile fabrics.

With the accelerated construction of Nantong's "eight dragons crossing the river" three-dimensional transportation network and the in-depth implementation of major strategic projects such as the new Nantong airport, the synergy effect between Tongzhouwan and southern Jiangsu is becoming increasingly prominent. The Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone will take this event as an opportunity to continuously strengthen in-depth cooperation with cities in southern Jiangsu such as Zhangjiagang, further promote cross-river integration, and promote the new development of Nantong's textile industry through large-scale, specialized, and branded development, leading Nantong's textile industry towards high-end development.

Gu Yong, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of the demonstration zone, and more than 150 representatives from wool industry enterprises, as well as relevant officials from the demonstration zone, participated in the event.
