On the morning of March 8th, a district-wide quality work conference was held in the demonstration zone to summarize and review the city's quality work since last year and systematically deploy key tasks for the next stage. Shi Hongjie, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of the demonstration zone, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Shi Hongjie fully affirmed the achievements of the district's quality work. He said that since last year, the demonstration zone has vigorously implemented the construction of a strong quality district, achieving new breakthroughs in AA-level quality credit. The foundation for regional quality development in the demonstration zone has been continuously consolidated, quality and safety have been effectively guaranteed, the leading role of brands has gradually emerged, and the overall situation shows a steady and upward trend.

Shi Hongjie emphasized:

Quality is the foundation of development, a measure for the benefit of the people, and a strategy for strengthening the country. We must deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on quality work, especially during the ongoing Two Sessions, where General Secretary Xi put forward the major requirement of "firmly grasping high-quality development as the primary task and developing new productive forces in a way that suits local conditions." This is the most advanced, authoritative, and fundamental guiding ideology for quality work.

Shi Hongjie required:

We must establish the concept of quality first and continuously strengthen quality work guarantees. The Quality Development Committee should play a leading role in coordinating and promoting the construction of a strong quality district; it should focus on the three major areas of products, engineering, and services, make good use of the "credit + double random" supervision model, and strictly adhere to the bottom line of quality; it should fully mobilize the strength of social organizations, increase the intensity of public service announcements on quality, and build a solid co-governance framework.

We must enhance the quality advantages of industries and continuously consolidate the foundation of quality work. We should use the "flagship leading" action as a lever, increase cultivation, guidance, and services, and lead enterprises to continuously improve their quality management systems. We should use "Jiangsu Fine Products" as a carrier, focusing on the three major industrial clusters of high-end marine equipment, modern textiles, and petrochemical new materials, explore the establishment of "quality alliances," and accelerate the creation of more high-tech, high-quality, high-brand, and high-value-added Tongzhou Bay characteristic quality brands.

We must improve the level of quality supply and continuously optimize the quality work environment. We must continuously optimize services, combining quality work with the "Year of Improving the Style of Government Work" and the "Year of Improving the Business Environment," and carry out in-depth "respond promptly, respond immediately, provide thoughtful service, and deliver on promises" four-pronged service, continuously polishing the "Everything is smooth in Tongzhou Bay, no worries" business service brand. We must deepen policy supply, effectively make good use of various reward and incentive policies in the field of quality, encourage enterprises to benchmark against international and domestic advanced standards, conduct research on common and key technologies related to quality, and promote the combination of cutting-edge key technology innovation and quality brand cultivation.

Qin Jian, member of the Party Working Committee of the demonstration zone, delivered a report on quality work. He pointed out that this year, the demonstration zone will resolutely implement the national, provincial, and municipal Party committee's decisions and deployments on quality work, focusing on the central goal of "striving for maritime strength and building the Tongzhou Bay petrochemical dual-circulation base," creating a new quality ecosystem; we must severely crack down on quality safety, comprehensively promote strong measures, and strengthen the supervision of quality and safety related to people's livelihood; we must continuously consolidate the foundation and strengthen the "one-stop" service for quality infrastructure.

The conference announced and commended the list of enterprises that received the 2023 Jiangsu Quality Credit AA-level and the 2023 demonstration zone advanced units in quality management.

At the meeting, the Economic Development Bureau, Nantong Hongyang Plush Products Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Taiyuan Steel Cable Co., Ltd., and other units made exchange speeches.
