With the opening of the Nantong Middle School class at Tongzhouwan Middle School in September 2023, the demonstration zone has achieved seamless integration of a high-quality education chain from preschool education and compulsory education to high school education through cooperation and joint construction with municipal key schools. The cooperation of key schools and cross-regional cooperation in running schools has also injected new impetus into the high-quality development of education in the demonstration zone. Recently, the second "Inclusive Education Research and Smart Teaching Activity" of Nantong City Kindergarten in 2024 was held at the Tongzhouwan branch garden.
In the outdoor activity area of the Tongzhouwan branch of the No. 1 Kindergarten of the Municipal Organs, children are playing football, building blocks, and playing with rolling barrels, full of energy. Huang Guoan, from Hunan Province, came to Tongzhouwan to work and live with his family in 2021. This year, his child is in the senior kindergarten class, and he feels relieved by the high-quality resources and rich extracurricular activities provided by the kindergarten.
The Tongzhouwan branch of the No. 1 Kindergarten of the Municipal Organs has been running for three years, jointly built by the No. 1 Kindergarten of the Municipal Organs and Tongzhouwan Experimental Kindergarten. Among the 340 students, 65% are children of migrant workers. Relying on the "full-day care cross-regional cooperation model," the two schools focus on both software and hardware, investing 50 million yuan in the construction of teaching hardware facilities. Through activities such as headmaster lectures, parent schools, half-day open days, and weekly home-school highlights, they have deeply integrated the concept of scientific education, allowing children of different ages and from different regions to share high-quality resources.
In recent years, the demonstration zone has focused on the positioning of Nantong's urban sub-center and the "Greater Tongzhouwan" central city, taking education as an important measure to improve urban functions and service levels. In the past three years, it has invested nearly 300 million yuan in key education projects and has successively cooperated with municipal key schools such as Jiangsu Nantong Tianjiabing Middle School, Nantong Zilang Primary School, and Nantong No. 1 Kindergarten of Municipal Organs to run schools, promoting the rapid, healthy, and sustainable development of education in Tongzhouwan.
