The Chinese delegation engaged in extensive and diverse international exchanges and cooperation

From May 16-18, the 92nd International Wool Textile Conference, hosted by the International Wool Textile Organization, was held in Kyoto, Japan. The theme of this conference was "Japanese Tradition and Innovation for the Future Development of Wool Textiles." Representatives from 23 countries and regions jointly discussed several important topics, including trade and testing standards, market and promotion, and sustainable development, and elected a new chairman for the International Wool Textile Organization.


The Chinese delegation at this conference consisted of 30 representatives, all members of the China Wool Textile Industry Association. The delegation and attendees engaged in extensive and diverse exchanges on matters related to the international wool textile industry. Among them, Liu Jiaqiang, President of the China Wool Textile Industry Association, and Yang Xiaoxiong, Chairman of the Nanjing Wool Market, delivered speeches at the conference, conveying the voice of China.
Liu Jiaqiang, President of the China Wool Textile Industry Association, and Zhang Shuqin, Vice Secretary-General, participated in a series of working meetings, including the delegation leader's meeting and the executive committee meeting of the International Wool Textile Organization. President Liu spoke at related events, exchanged views with various representatives in the international wool textile industry chain, discussed cooperation, engaged in friendly consultations, met challenges, and jointly sought opportunities for win-win development between China and the international wool textile industry.


A special meeting between the Chinese delegation and the International Wool Textile Organization was also held after the conference. The Chinese delegation was led by President Liu Jiaqiang. Klaus Steger, the newly elected chairman of the International Wool Textile Organization, Vice Chairman Michael Jackson, and Secretary-General Dalena White attended the meeting. Both sides fully exchanged views on sustainable future development.




The Chinese delegation further developed diversified industry exchanges. Liu Jiaqiang, President of the China Wool Textile Industry Association, Jose Miguel, a representative of the Spanish wool industry, and George De Kok, head of the International Wool Textile Organization's wool disease safety working group, exchanged views on the current impact of the animal and plant quarantine epidemic on Spanish wool. Liu Jiaqiang, President of the China Wool Textile Industry Association, communicated and exchanged information with Fabio Garzena, Chairman of the International Cashmere and Vicuña Manufacturers Association, and Shimizu Kunimasa, Vice Chairman. China-Australia, China-New Zealand, and China-South Africa wool working group meetings were also held during the conference, focusing on important issues of bilateral wool trade.

Taking advantage of the conference, Liu Jiaqiang, President of the China Wool Textile Industry Association, led some members of the delegation to visit Shima Seiki Manufacturing Co., Ltd., to learn about and view the company's latest wool knitting equipment and technology, obtaining the most cutting-edge wool textile technology information.

Three Chinese companies became sponsors of the conference. At the conference, Liu Jiaqiang, President of the China Wool Textile Industry Association, and Dalena White, Secretary-General of the International Wool Textile Organization, jointly visited the booth of Zhejiang Yongjin Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
