On the afternoon of May 3, a work coordination meeting on safe production was held in the demonstration zone to convey and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the landslide disaster on the Chayang section of the Meida Expressway in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. The meeting emphasized the need to earnestly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, as well as the work requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, and the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and to coordinate and deploy the safe production work in the demonstration zone. Lu Zhong Hua, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the demonstration zone, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Shi Hongjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee, deployed key tasks for safe production.

Lu Zhong Hua pointed out that all levels of the demonstration zone should thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions and instructions on safe production, draw profound lessons from accidents, firmly establish a sense of urgency and a bottom-line awareness of safe production, and earnestly implement the concept of safe development into all fields and processes of the economic and social development of the demonstration zone. Vigorous measures should be taken to resolutely eliminate major accident hidden dangers, effectively control major safety risks, build a solid bulwark of safe development with practical actions, and effectively protect the lives and property of the people and maintain social stability.

Lu Zhong Hua demanded that all departments and units should learn from past mistakes, adhere to a problem-oriented approach, strengthen the investigation of risks and hidden dangers in key areas and important links, and ensure that problems are clearly identified, rectified in place, and dynamically cleared to zero. They should strengthen safety prevention in the field of transportation, focusing on comprehensive inspections of dangerous sections such as bridges, tunnels, and slopes, as well as county and township roads. They should strengthen the safety management of places with high concentrations of people, focusing on increasing the intensity of investigation and disposal in key areas such as hazardous chemicals, construction, gas, fire protection, and marine fisheries, and resolutely curb the occurrence of major production safety accidents.

Lu Zhong Hua stressed that members of the demonstration zone's leading group should proactively conduct "four nos, two direct" inspections, and conduct open and covert investigations into duty and safe production work. All departments and units should implement the requirements of "Party and government assume joint responsibility, post responsibility, joint responsibility, and accountability for dereliction of duty," implement the requirements of "three managements and three musts," strengthen duty, strengthen the full-process safety supervision of key areas, comprehensively close supervisory loopholes, and eliminate supervisory blind spots. They should urge enterprises to shoulder their main responsibilities, implement personnel and technical prevention measures, prevent omissions and loss of control, and comprehensively improve the intrinsic safety level of enterprises.

Shi Hongjie emphasized the need to draw profound lessons from past mistakes, quickly carry out hidden danger investigation and rectification, make every effort to conduct risk assessment, and take timely preventive measures. Focus should be placed on key areas, paying close attention to transportation, places with high concentrations of people, flood control and drought relief, and maritime safety, and detailed and specific safety prevention measures should be implemented. A state of combat readiness should be maintained, duty should be strictly observed, emergency forces should be strengthened, public opinion should be responded to, and preparations for emergency response and handling should be fully made. Deployment and implementation should be strictly enforced, system implementation should be strengthened, and targeted control measures should be implemented in key industries and fields to ensure that the safe production situation in the demonstration zone remains stable and improves.
