Demonstration Zone holds a meeting on intellectual property work and the promotion of patent pre-examination quality improvement

Recently, the demonstration zone held a meeting to promote intellectual property work, including a patent pre-examination quality improvement dissemination meeting and a bank-enterprise docking meeting. The meeting reported on the progress of intellectual property work in the demonstration zone in the first quarter, analyzed the current situation, identified shortcomings, and planned the direction of future work. Qin Jian, member of the Party Working Committee of the demonstration zone, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting fully affirmed the achievements of intellectual property work in the entire region. With the continuous efforts and dedicated service of various departments in the demonstration zone, and with the active application and support of various enterprises, the intellectual property work in the demonstration zone achieved a "good start" in the first quarter, with 42 newly added valid invention patents and a total of 287 valid invention patents, an increase of 16.19% compared to the end of last year, ranking first in the city in terms of growth rate.

The meeting emphasized:

While achieving these results, we should clearly recognize the problems that need to be addressed in the intellectual property work of the demonstration zone, such as the still low number of patent applications; the uneven efforts of various bureaus and offices in guiding enterprises to apply for invention patents; and the insufficient effectiveness of intellectual property transformation.

The meeting required:

Continuously consolidate the "foundation" of intellectual property. Continuously strengthen the supply of intellectual property policies and the integration of elements, and promote the improvement of patent pre-examination, trademark and brand building, and rights protection assistance.

Make every effort to build an intellectual property "high ground". We should strengthen policy research, strengthen cooperation and communication with financial institutions, and strive for more policy and financial support; we should cultivate and introduce intellectual property talents and comprehensive service institutions, and build a high-level intellectual property talent team; we should strengthen legal protection, and work together with the government and courts to create a high-standard protection pattern for intellectual property rights, promoting the integration of talent chains, industry chains, and innovation chains.

Fully release the "dividends" of intellectual property. We should deeply implement the intellectual property empowerment project for strong enterprises. Various departments and units should combine the cultivation and support of large and strong enterprises with daily visits and investigations to comprehensively improve enterprises' understanding and pursuit of intellectual property rights, helping to accelerate the development of patent-intensive industries and strategic emerging industries, forming a good trend of enterprises implementing patent layouts and regular applications, and maximizing the stimulation of social innovation and creativity.

At the meeting, the person in charge of the pre-examination department of Nantong Municipal Intellectual Property Protection Center conducted business training on patent pre-examination work; relevant comrades from the Nanjing agency office of the Patent Office in Nantong conducted training on the practical points of patent right pledge registration; financial institutions such as Jiangsu Bank and Nanjing Bank introduced intellectual property financial products on site; the person in charge of the social management and security bureau and a representative from Hengguang New Materials (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. made exchange speeches.

The meeting was attended by the responsible comrades in charge of various bureaus (offices) in the demonstration zone, Sanyu Town, and the First Office; relevant intellectual property personnel from relevant enterprises; and relevant department staff from the market supervision bureau of the demonstration zone.
