Recently, the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) organized some non-Communist members of the Provincial CPPCC to visit Tongzhou, conducting research on the integrated development of the Tongzhou Bay, focusing on the theme of "Forging Ahead on a New Journey, Jointly Building a Modernized Society."

The research team visited the Tongzhou Bay Integrated Development Demonstration Zone's new seaport planning exhibition hall, the high-end port equipment industrial park, and the "2+1" wharf project at the main port area of Tongzhou Bay. They comprehensively and thoroughly understood the demonstration zone's development history, strategic positioning, layout planning, locational advantages, and the progress of the "five parks, one city, and one base" construction.

The research team stated that Nantong City resolutely implemented national strategic deployments and the requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. Seizing national strategic opportunities, and adhering to the goal of "establishing the bay with the port, promoting the bay with industry, integrating the bay with the city, and beautifying the bay with greenery," Nantong leveraged its unique resource endowments to vigorously advance the construction of Tongzhou Bay. The integration of port, industry, and city development is flourishing, with specialized industrial park projects standing side by side. The "2+1" wharf is magnificent. The city has achieved significant results in industrial positioning, investment attraction, and business environment creation, demonstrating a high level of innovation and effectiveness. This adds another major platform and strategic fulcrum for Nantong's deeper integration into the "Belt and Road" initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt national strategy, deepening coastal development, integrated river-sea development, and coordinated land-sea development. It has also accumulated valuable experience for high-quality advancement of Jiangsu's new practices in Chinese-style modernization. Next steps will involve carefully summarizing the findings of this research, further gathering wisdom and strength, and building consensus to support high-quality development through high-quality CPPCC work.
During their stay in Tongzhou, the research team also inspected the ecological restoration project of the Yangtze River's great protection.

Relevant leaders from the municipal government and the municipal CPPCC participated in the event.
