The Civil Code of the People's Republic of China consists of 7 books and 1260 articles. The books are General Provisions, Property, Contracts, Personality Rights, Marriage and Family, Inheritance, Tort Liability, and Supplementary Provisions.

Effective Date of the Civil Code

The Civil Code of the People's Republic of China came into effect on January 1, 2021.
