Major Project Element Security Makes New Breakthrough! The Xiaomiao Hongshang Extension Navigation Project (Phase Two) Construction Navigation Safety Guarantee Plan Passes Expert Review

To meet the needs of major project construction in the service demonstration zone and ensure the safe navigation of the Xiaomiao Hong waterway (Phase II) construction, the Nantong Maritime Bureau recently held an expert review meeting on the "Nantong Port Xiaomiao Hong Upward Extension Waterway Project (Phase II) Construction Navigation Safety Guarantee Plan."
At the meeting, the attendees and experts carefully listened to the report on the construction navigation safety guarantee plan by the compiling unit. After the experts reviewed the plan point by point and conducted thorough discussions, they believed that the plan's content was comprehensive and met relevant requirements. After appropriate modifications and improvements, it can be used to guide the next steps of the project's safe production and safety management, providing reliable technical support for the safe implementation of the project and laying a solid foundation for accelerating the construction of the Xiaomiao Hong Upward Extension Waterway Project (Phase II).
The Nantong Port Xiaomiao Hong Upward Extension Waterway Project (Phase II) is an access channel for the No. 1 port pool in the main port area of Tongzhou Bay. This waterway project (Phase II) extends from the starting point of the Sanjiasha South Waterway to the bottom of the No. 1 port pool in Tongzhou Bay. The waterway is approximately 6.3km long, with a navigable width of 228m～263m, and a total dredging volume of approximately 28.8 million cubic meters. Upon completion, it will accommodate 50,000-ton bulk carriers for single-direction navigation with the tide and 20,000-ton bulk carriers and general cargo ships for two-way navigation at all tides. This project is of great significance to promoting the economic development of Tongzhou Bay and serving major projects such as Huaneng and Lanhai New Materials.
