Rural Revitalization: Science and Technology First, Promoting High-Quality Development of the Rice Industry

To further improve the quality of cultivated land, implement the creation of green, high-quality, and efficient rice cultivation, and improve rice yield and quality. Recently, the demonstration zone's agriculture and rural affairs office organized a training session on improving the organic matter content of cultivated land in high-standard farmland and on green, high-quality, and efficient rice planting techniques. Two experts from the Yangtze River Agricultural Science Institute were specially invited to give lectures at this training session, which was attended by some major rice growers and village officials from Sanyu Town.

During the training, experts gave technical explanations and an outlook on industry prospects regarding organic rice cultivation, covering three aspects: scientific improvement of planting methods, high-quality and high-efficiency production techniques for high-quality rice, and quality control standards for high-quality rice. They introduced the achievements and technology transfer of the Yangtze River Agricultural Science Institute since the 14th Five-Year Plan in the creation of new agricultural varieties, the exploration of local specialty vegetable resources, and the construction of high-efficiency and low-carbon cultivation models. They also put forward suggestions and ideas for strengthening cooperation between the Yangtze River Institute and the demonstration zone's agricultural office.

This training was closely related to actual production. Major growers said they gained a lot and that they would fully apply the new models, technologies, and varieties to the fields, using professional knowledge to promote high-quality and high-efficiency agriculture. Major grower Zhang Jian said: "The agricultural knowledge I learned in this training has been very helpful to me. I will strive to put what I've learned into practice and work hard to improve grain yields."

Next, the demonstration zone's agriculture and rural affairs office will continue to improve its services for farmers, strengthen farmer training, and continuously provide farmers with more diversified and higher-quality agricultural technology services. This will help new agricultural varieties, technologies, and models become more widely adopted, continuously improve farmers' comprehensive quality, promote rural revitalization, and safeguard high-quality rural development.
