New progress has been made in the development of the Tongzhouwan Port!

From September 2nd to 3rd, the Comprehensive Planning Department of the Ministry of Transport and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government Office held a review meeting for the "Revised Planning Scheme for the Tongzhouwan Operating Area of Nantong Port Tongzhouwan Port Area" (hereinafter referred to as the "Planning") in the demonstration zone. Huang Dongxu, Deputy Director of the Water Resources Planning Division of the Comprehensive Planning Department of the Ministry of Transport, presided over the meeting. Zhao Gang, Director of the Comprehensive Planning Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport; Gao Hongyu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Nantong Municipal Government; Tang Congcong, Party Secretary and Director of the Nantong Municipal Transportation Bureau; and Shi Hongjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the demonstration zone, attended the meeting.

At the review meeting, the experts and representatives in attendance listened to the introduction by the Ministry of Transport's Planning Research Institute regarding the necessity of the plan revision, throughput prediction, and revision plan. They carefully reviewed and discussed the revised scale, land layout, and emergency measures of the "Planning", and put forward constructive opinions and suggestions. After careful deliberation, the expert group unanimously agreed to pass the review of the revised planning scheme.

The Tongzhouwan operating area is an important part of Nantong Port's coastal ports and an important support for Jiangsu Province's implementation of its coastal development strategy. This revision of the "Planning" will better meet the development needs of the Tongzhouwan green chemical expansion area and ensure the production and operation needs of major projects. It is an important planning support for Tongzhouwan to build a 100-billion-level industrial new city, and will help Nantong accelerate the cultivation of new marine economic productivity and contribute more to the construction of a strong transportation province.

The passing of the "Planning" review lays a solid foundation for obtaining approvals from relevant national and provincial departments. Next, the demonstration zone will further revise and improve the revised planning scheme based on the review opinions and strive to obtain approval as soon as possible.

Representatives from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport, the Department of Ecology and Environment, the Water Resources Department, the Jiangsu Maritime Bureau, the Nantong Municipal Government, and relevant departments and units, as well as 7 invited experts, attended the meeting.
