A delegation led by Argentinian Consul-General in Shanghai, Mr. Luen Tang, visited the demonstration zone for an inspection.

On May 24, Argentinian Consul General in Shanghai, Mr. Tang Luen, and his delegation visited Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone for an inspection and exchange. Mr. Pan Qiang, Director of the NanTong Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Ms. Hou Yanqiu, Deputy Director of the NanTong Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Ding Feng, Party Committee Secretary of the Demonstration Zone, and Mr. Shi Xingkai, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of the Demonstration Zone, participated in the event.

Argentina boasts numerous excellent ports and serves as a crucial logistics hub in South America. As a major emerging market economy, Argentina possesses abundant mineral resources, including oil, natural gas, lithium, and copper, exporting significant quantities to Asia. It is also a major global producer and exporter of food and meat, earning the title of "world's breadbasket and meat storehouse." China is Argentina's second-largest trading partner, and NanTong enjoys frequent economic, trade, and cultural exchanges with Argentina, with cooperation deepening across various fields. Currently, the new seaport in Tongzhouwan is under rapid construction, and the demonstration zone's efforts in cultivating port-related industrial clusters and developing coastal and port economies are key focuses of this visit.

The Argentinian Consul General Tang Luen's delegation visited the main port area's "2+1" wharf and the Tongzhouwan Planning Exhibition Hall. Through on-site inspections, the delegation gained a comprehensive understanding of the overall development and construction of the Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone, the development of the new seaport, and port construction and capacity upgrades. At the main port area's "2+1" wharf, the delegation learned in detail about the wharf's construction and operation, as well as the construction of port-related industrial projects. The bustling construction scene at the "2+1" wharf left a deep impression on the delegation members. The delegation fully affirmed the high-quality development of the Tongzhouwan Demonstration Zone and expressed hope for further strengthening exchanges and exploring more cooperation opportunities in port logistics and economic and trade development, achieving a win-win situation through complementary advantages.

Mr. Shen Jie, member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the Demonstration Zone, accompanied the inspection.
